Delicious when you have no dessert but fancy one. Simple and lovely. I often mention keeping puff pastry in the fridge for sweet and savoury recipes.

Method
The preparation remains in its original order; guided mode is not available for this structure.
I peel an apple of your choice.

I cut 6 slices about 1 cm thick; use 2 small apples if needed. I cut a central hole with a 3 cm cutter. Do not make it smaller or threading pastry will be difficult. I discarded my first attempt because the hole was too small.

I cut strips about 1 centimetre and a half wide along the pastry's long side.

I wrap each apple slice with overlapping pastry strips until covered, using about 2 strips.

I prepare all and place on a lined tray.

I beat yolk with a couple of tablespoons of cream or milk and brush the rings.

I mix 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle all over.

I bake at 200°C for about 15/20 minutes, watching closely.

Serve warm.
