Method
The preparation remains in its original order; guided mode is not available for this structure.
I wash apples, halve and core, leaving skins.
I slice very thinly.
I put in water, or apple and ginger juice as I used for flavour, and sprinkle with lemon or lime.
I cover and microwave for 2 minutes to soften, or use a small pan. I drain onto parchment and pat dry.
I unroll pastry, flatten slightly and cut 6 strips.
I spread each with favourite jam, mine apple and orange, and cinnamon.
I overlap softened apple slices on the upper half.
I fold pastry in half and press lightly; apples should protrude.
I roll into a pinwheel.
It should form a rose.
I put in a paper case in a muffin tin, or directly in lightly buttered moulds, and dust with icing sugar.
I bake at 180/200°C for 30/35 minutes, watching as ovens differ.
I also made pear and chocolate roses; recipe soon.
