My first apple cake recipe, made when I was 14, a lifetime ago. Always simple and good. This is half the quantity for an air fryer; cooked perfectly and quickly in a tin fitting the basket. A normal oven at 180°C works too.

Method
The preparation remains in its original order; guided mode is not available for this structure.

I put sugar and egg in a bowl.

I whisk and add melted butter.

I add sifted flour and baking powder.

I add grappa for extra flavour.

I gradually add milk, about a glass, for a semi-thick batter.

I add salt.

Grated lemon zest.

I peel and slice apples and add to batter.

I combine and pour into my non-stick tin.

I preheat the fryer to 170°C and cook about 35 minutes. Cover with foil if darkening halfway; air-fryer times and temperature are slightly lower than a normal oven.

I unmould after cooking.

I dust with icing sugar.
