Ingredients and method
The preparation remains in its original order; guided mode is not available for this structure.
My friend Anda’s mother Corina brought wonderful carefully shelled Romanian walnuts. I had to make a cake!
INGREDIENTS
250 g walnuts
150 g cornflour
4 eggs
Half a vanilla pod
200 g butter
200 g sugar
1 sachet baking powder

I whisk softened butter with 150 g sugar in a mixer or electrically.

While eggs whisk, I grind walnuts with remaining 50 g sugar.

Grind fine, though a few pieces are good.

Butter is now whipped.

I add an egg, then the others one at a time once incorporated.

I halve vanilla pod and scrape seeds.

I add seeds to butter cream and continue whisking.

I sift cornflour and baking powder.

I add walnuts to butter; the loose mixture combines as ground nuts are added. I stir with a spatula.

Once combined,

I add sifted cornflour and baking powder.

Batter is ready.

I butter and cornflour a 22 cm tin.

I add batter.

I decorated with whole walnuts, optional as they sink and disappear.

I bake at 180°C about 40/50 minutes until a skewer comes out dry, then dust with icing sugar when warm.

Delicious and soft.

Thank you again, Corina, for these delicious walnuts!
