What is better in winter than good hot chocolate? My husband loves it very thick!
The strangest thing is often being asked by Germans in August for hot chocolate with pizza or pasta! Perhaps that thought puts me off making it!
It is delicious, nothing like packet mixes.
I
NGREDIENTS FOR 2 PEOPLE
500 g whole milk
15 g cornflour
15 g unsweetened cocoa powder
20 g sugar
120 g shaved dark chocolate, 70% cocoa

I sift cornflour and cocoa into a small pan.

I mix them.

I gradually whisk in cold milk to avoid lumps.

The mixture should be smooth.

I add sugar.

I melt dark chocolate in the microwave or a bain-marie.

I heat the pan gently, stirring continuously.

As it starts simmering, I add melted chocolate, stirring constantly.

It gradually thickens. Choose your preferred thickness and taste for sweetness, adding sugar if needed.
For thinner chocolate, add more milk.

Serve in cups with whipped fresh cream for extra indulgence, or a pinch of chilli.
